The festival does not recognize any bars of caste, class or creed. Drenched in colors, everybody comes to resemble each other losing their original self.

India Association presents six course food fest on the auspicious occasion of Holi.


Starters

  1. Chicken tandoori - Chicken Tandoori is a roasted Indian chicken delicacy. Traditionally chicken is cooked in tandoor(clay ovens) used by locals for this dish.
  2. Alu Tikki - Aloo ki Tikki is a popular chaat recipe which is consumed as starter and is also a famous street food. It's American counter part is Potato pattie.

Main Course

  1. Alu matar - One of the better known Indian cuisine, this is a favorite at occasions ranging from a wedding buffet to a family picnic. It goes exceptionally well with Basmati Rice. Name alu-matar means "Potato-Peas".
  2. Chicken tikka masala - It is an Anglo Indian surry dish dish in which roasted chicken chunks (tikka) are served in a rich red, creamy, lightly spiced, tomato-based sauce.
  3. Peas Pulav - Peas Pulav is also known as Yellow Rice. It is a great alternative to plain boiled rice and accompaniment for any main course, be it vegetarian or meat-based.

Dessert

  1. Ras malai - Ras Malai is a popular South-Asian dessert. It is dumplings made from cottage or ricotta cheese soaked in sweetened, thickened milk delicately flavored with cardamom. Serve it chilled and garnished with slivers of dried fruit.
